OnlineJobs allows employers to either pause or permanently delete job postings directly from the employer dashboard.
If you no longer want to receive applications, we generally recommend pausing a job instead of deleting it.
Pause a Job Posting
Pausing a job temporarily removes it from public visibility without permanently deleting it.
When a job is paused:
It is hidden from public listings and search results
Candidates can no longer apply
Existing applicants and conversations remain available
If some candidates bookmarked the job post, they can still see the title but not the context and can not apply until you unpause it
How to Pause a Job
To pause a job posting:
Log in to your employer dashboard.
Open the My Jobs section.
Find the job you want to pause.
Click the pause option.
Confirm your action if prompted.
The job will immediately become inactive.
Resume a Paused Job
Paused jobs can be reactivated anytime.
To resume a paused job:
Go to My Jobs.
Find the paused listing.
Click the resume or activate option.
The job will become publicly visible again immediately without requiring another moderation review.
Active and Paused Job Limits
The number of active and paused jobs you can have depends on your membership plan.
Example:
Your plan may allow 5 active jobs
And 20 total jobs
This means you could have:
5 active job postings
15 paused job postings
Paused jobs still count toward your total job limit, but they do not count as active public listings while paused.
Delete a Job Posting
Deleting a job permanently removes the listing from OnlineJobs.
Unlike pausing, deletion cannot be undone.
How to Delete a Job
To permanently delete a job:
Open the My Jobs page.
Find the job listing.
Click the delete option.
Confirm the deletion in the confirmation popup.
Once deleted:
The job is permanently removed
The listing cannot be restored
The job cannot be reactivated later
What Happens to Applicants and Messages?
Even after deleting a job:
Applicant remains available
Messages and conversations remain accessible
This helps employers retain communication records and hiring history.
When Should You Pause vs Delete?
Pause a Job If:
Hiring is temporarily on hold
You may reopen the position later
You want to stop receiving applications temporarily
Delete a Job If:
The position is permanently closed
The listing is no longer needed
You want to remove the posting completely
Troubleshooting
Why is my paused job not visible publicly?
Paused jobs are automatically hidden from:
Public job listings
Search results
Candidate applications
This is expected behavior.
Can I recover a deleted job?
No. Deleted jobs are permanently removed and cannot be restored.
Do I lose applicants after deleting a job?
No. Your applicant records and messages remain available in your employer dashboard.
Pro Tip
If you’re unsure whether you’ll reopen a position later, use the pause feature instead of deleting the job.
Pausing preserves your listing setup while preventing new applications.
